The Internet of Things (IoT) brings promising opportunities and challenges. It attracts great attentions, and has important economic and social values. IoT will play a key role in the next generation of information, network, and communication developing. Nonetheless, sensing/computing devices and communication systems, which enable IoT, can consume significant amounts of energy. This contributes to anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions.  To reduce the environmental impact of IoT infrastructures and enable a future sustainable society, future IoT systems need to be designed with greater energy efficiency.  In conjunction with iThings, IEEE International Conference on Green Computing and Communication (GreenCom) seeks original papers in, but are not limited to, the following categories:

Green Computing and Communications (GreenCom) Submission Categories

  1. Green IoT: Sustainable Design and Technologies
  2. Energy- and Power-Constrained Devices and Gateways
  3. Ultra-low power IoT Systems Architectures
  4. Low-power, distributed data processing on sensors
  5. Energy-efficient M2M wired and wireless communications and networking
  6. Optimization and/or analysis in green computing and communications (including core network optimization)
  7. Green big data for IoT
  8. Green cloud computing for IoT
